OUR MINISTRY

WHAT IS LA TRINIDAD?

La Trinidad means “Trinity” in Spanish. We chose this name because it reflects our commitment to the historic Christian faith—centered on the Triune God—while honoring the language, culture, and history of Houston’s East End. Our desire is to express the ancient faith of the Church in a way that is accessible and meaningful to our neighborhood today. La Trinidad represents both continuity with the historic Church and a fresh, local work shaped by the community we serve.

OUR VISION

To see a movement of the Gospel
among Latinos in Houston and beyond.

OUR MISSION

Inviting disconnected people
to discover the grace of Jesus
in a community that feels like home.

OUR STRATEGY

At La Trinidad, our mission flows through three movements: we make disciples through the local church, mobilize leaders through a training center, and multiply churches through our ministry hub. Together, these form one Gospel movement—where people encounter Jesus, leaders are equipped for His mission, and new churches and ministries are launched to bless Houston and beyond.

We are in our first year. Preview Worship Services begin September 2026. Everything below reflects where we are headed — and we are already moving.

MAKE DISCIPLES THROUGH A
LOCAL CHURCH

Disciples aren't made through programs — they're made through relationships. At La Trinidad, we believe that belonging often precedes believing, and that people move toward Jesus gradually, in the context of real community.

We think of this as a journey with a direction. We're building a church where someone can start at the edges — a neighborhood gathering, a conversation over coffee, a question asked in safety — and move, over time, toward the center of a life shaped by Jesus. Every person who walks through our doors is somewhere on that journey, and our job is to walk with them.

MOBILIZE LEADERS THROUGH A
TRAINING CENTER

A movement needs more than a congregation — it needs leaders. El Centro is La Trinidad's leadership development initiative, designed to identify, form, and deploy Latino leaders for gospel ministry in Houston and beyond.

El Centro exists because we believe the greatest barrier to more Latino church plants in Houston isn't a lack of resources — it's a lack of leaders who have been found, trained, and sent. We are building the infrastructure to change that, starting in the East End.

MULTIPLY CHURCHES THROUGH A
MINISTRY HUB

La Trinidad is not the end goal — it is a beginning. From the start, we have built with multiplication in mind: a church that trains leaders, resources planters, and sends new congregations into the neighborhoods of east Houston and beyond.

This is the longest horizon of our strategy, but it shapes everything we do today. We plant deeply here so that others can be sent from here.

WHERE WE ARE NOW

La Trinidad launched its core community in 2025. We gather regularly, serve our neighborhood, and are preparing for Preview Worship Services beginning September 13, 2026 at 4901 Sherman St, Houston, TX 77011.

El Centro is already underway. We have launched our first learning community, with five leaders currently going through theological and missional training in partnership with ThirdMill Seminary. This is the beginning of what we believe will become a significant pipeline of equipped Latino leaders for Houston and beyond.

If you’d like to learn more, partner with us, or support the work, we’d love to hear from you.
